fri 11 warm & Dry Early
I went from HUGH RODGERS home to uncles & Had not been Long there
to WM McCAINS came there for to see if I would make him Some Brandy.
When he was agoing home he requested of me for to Ride home with him.
so I not being very busy imployed I went home with him in the even his
Daughter SALLY & Son HUGH & I walked over to ELI WEITS
for a pair of Shoes that he was making for me we returned back to Mr
McCAINS & Staid all Night Ah friendly I was treted (SALLY McCAIN)
Some times go I thought that all was over between her & I but Lit for
now She is more enamored with me than ever She was since I first Seen
her

Mr McCAIN & some more of his family & I sot off with a waggon Load
of Apples & went to uncles for me to Still.

I went home from uncles, up to HUGH RODGERS but did not Stay long
but home to uncles again- there I went up to Dadys after a little Black
-- that Left me Last Wednesday at uncles I went there but found her not
went to PETER RAPES from there home to uncles bu this time it was
in the Night.

at JOSEPH WALKUPS Mill & at the WIDOW RODGERS them home

afternoon I went to DAVID CRENSHAWS & he cut out a morning gown
for me & I returned home

& Mary was there & them & I went back to uncles from that we went

Apple Brandy for ANDREW WALKER run 2 Stillfuls

Before the Brake of Day I Sot off from my uncles in order for to go to
Sharlott for to Enter his still I calld in at one JNO HAMLETS I
had a Note against him for 24-1/2 Dollars. However I got no Money from
him so I went on to Sharlott I got my business done- Couriest through
Town a while Than by the request of JNO STEWARD I went home with
him--Staid all Night

Early in the morning I Left JNO STEWARDS & rode as far as ROBERT
COUGHRANS my cousins there I called in with an Expectation of geting
my Brackfast & my Mare fed, But I misst it an I rode on to my fathers
before I got my Brackfast from that I rode home to my uncles- in the afternoon

Early I Sot off from uncles in order for to hear a Covenenter Minister
Preach I went to WM McCAINS & them & I went to a place of THO
NEELS wheare the preaching was for to be it was one DONLEY
that preacht in the forenoon he lecterd on the 4 Chapter of Jno from the
10 verse in the afternoon He Spoke from the 3 Chap of hebrews the 14 verse.
When all was over I went to WM. McCAINS again & I Staid all Night
(SALLY McCAIN)

a run of Brandy for JAS WILSONS run 2 Stillfuls

WM McCAIN & I Sot off from his house & went to WM. RODGERS
from that to WM. MILLERS where our Election holds thursday for
Sembly men SHERID GREY Esqr JNO SIBLEY Dr HENDERSON CHARLES POLK
& some othere all sot up. In the afternoon I Left MILLER with some
more company and we had a mighty whirrow along the road JN & JAS
GAULT tooke a notion that they would whip JAS RODGERS & I but
we got down from our Creatures & told them we would not let them. Therefore
they Left off the business. I went on home to uncles by this time it was
Dark. WM McCAIN his wife & Eldest Daughter SALLY was all
Night at uncles (SALLY McCAIN) Oh for our loves flourisheth Like
the fields in Spring with flowere every thing is going on So well between
her & I & her people & mine that it Seems like nothing but Death would
part us.

& I rode up to Esqr ANDREW WALKERS we got nothing done for the
Esqr was as Drunk as the Divel So we returnd home I went into the Still
house & was Late in the night before I got Done. (O! the Evile that is
in the heart of Man)

I Doubled a run for uncle made 14 gallons Than I rode up to Dadys Late
I went up to my brother ALEXDRS & Staid all Night (rain)

Soon in the morning I went from my brother ALEXDRS down to my fathers
& went over to brother WMS made but little Stay till I went back
to my fathers in the afternoon I returned home to my uncles (mighty rain)

I Singled a run of Brandy for ANDREW WALKER & Late I went to WM
McCAINS & Staid all Night (SALLY McCAIN) Ah what kind entertainment

I all sot off for to go to Lancaster Courthouse with Butter for MR
COUSER we went as far as HUGH McCAINS there we met with WM
McCAIN he went with us & we went to Lancaster Town & the Sold there
Butter for 9 d Starting we froliced through Town till in the afternoon
than we Drove home

in order for to go to my fathers for to take my fodder I calld in at JAS

in my Left Leg the old affliction)

REDFORDS & ALEXDR bought a Bay filley from REDFORD a
year old past in the Spring give him 55 Dollars. from there we went to
ALEXDR OSBORNS & from there home to fathers

I went to hear MR BROWN preach. He Spoke from Ecclesiastes the
11 chapter & 9 verse after sermon was over I met wet one ADAM SMITH
who I had some small acquentence with & he had once upon a certain used
me genteel at his fathers so (before I begin the following Lines I must
confess that we are not doing rite) I invites him for to go with me to
PETER RAPES for to Drink Some Brandy we went & drunk rite Sharply
a while with some more company than my Comrade SMITH & I Sot off
& went to HUGH McCRORYS & by there insisting on us we -- lighted
from off our Creatures & took Dinner by this it was geting Dark so we
pursured our journey & it being moon Light we rode as far as JOHN McCAINS
there we Staid all Night and was very Kingly Entertained

even than I went to my uncles on the Waxhaw Creek & Staid all Night (I

I Sot off from my uncles & went to JAS WILSONS for to see him about
some money that he was oweing of me I got 7 Dollars when I Left that I
called in at WM McCRORYS School that was near to Mr. WILSONS'
did not tarry long till I rode on to my fathers. Late in the even
I walked over to my brother WM. & past the Night with him

Early I left WMS & went to fathers- from that I went to Where JAS
LOWERY Now lives for to get him for to sue my Mare. he was Drunk so
his son JNO Bungled on the Shoes. WM. COUGHRAN came to the
shop & him & I went to WM. McCAINS & back to LOWERYS there
COUGHREN & I SWOPT I Let him have a Black Mare that I got from
ELI WEITS for a Broen horse & I give him 5 Dollars. from there
we went to brother ALEXDRS from that I went to fathers (in the
night rain)

than ordinary my brother ALEXDR & I Sot off from Dadys & went to
WM. McCAINS to Shooting Match there we froliced about all Night
so as I never Slept one winck

we left WM McCAINS & rode to ANDREW WALKERS from that home
to my fathers. I walked over to brother WM (I feel Solitary) I
did not Stay Long till I went back to my fathers than up to brother ALEXDRS
& Staid all Night

HUGH McCRORYS from that to JNO THOMPSONS for to purchas
some young cattle from him but his cattle ware gone to the woods so we
did not trade I Sot off from home & by the way I met RITCHARD GRIFFEN
going to SHARID GREYS Esqr it was his Law day & insisted on me
for to go with him to GREYS So I turnd & went to GREYS Late
in the evening I returnd home to my fathers this Night it could be perceived
that there was FROST

fathers from that I went to WM FISHERS from that to FREDERICK
FISHERS from that to WM McCAINS & Staid all Night (SALLY
McCAIN) now it is agreed upon between her & I for to Leave off keeping
of Company as much as we have don for about 6 months (for some reasons)

WM. FISHERS from that home to Dadys I had a Quentity of hands pulling
of my corn Than we turnd in to Halling at Night. I went with Some more

JENY FOSTOR came there & her & I Sot off & went to where WM.
McCOY now lives did not Stay long till we came back to Dadys, In the
afternoon I went from my fathers about 7 miles of ELIJAH SIBLEYS.
He had Sent me word that he was going to Virgena & that he would be glad
of my company. So I went for to see when he proposed Soting off when I
got there he was over at his fathers & I went there & him & I went back
to his house again & I Staid all night with him I was very kindly entertained

ALEXDRS & back to Dadys & Down to JAS BECKETS for to help
him for to Husk corn in the night PETER RAPE, SAMUEL BECKET & I
went over to PETERS & took our Selves a Drop of Dram than back
to BECKETS & helpt him for to Husk out his corn & Staid all Night

Early I went up to my fathers about Some business & back to BECKETS
& got 21 Bushels of corn from ROBERT RINER that he made at BECKETS.
Than I went Back to Dadys & got my horse Sadled & went to ANDREW WALKERS

I was helping for to pick uncles Mill Stones. Late in the even I went
up to HUGH RODGERS & Staid all Night (JEAN RODGERS)

I went from HUGH RODGERS home to uncles & Staid all night

Early uncle & I went to JOHN SPREBERYS When we got home I Sot off
again & went to DAVID STARNS for to see him about Some corn that
he was owing off me. from STARNS I went to WM McCAINS (SALLY
McCAIN) from that home to uncles intending the next day for to go
for my corn

corn that I got from Starns. We called at HUGH RODGERS from that
to Where ELI WEITS now lives got 27 Bushels of DAVID STARNS
we came on to WM. McCAINS from that home to uncles with my corn.
In the even I Sot off from uncles again & went to WM RODGERS to
a shooting Match from that Some Quentity of us went up to PETER RAPES
there we took a stout Drop of Dram. From that I went on to my fathers
& staid till morning & that was not long

evening I went to JAS BECKETS, HUGH McCRORY & to old Mr. JOHN
RODGERS fpor to Husk corn when we got Done went to HUGH McCRORYS,

I went from my fathers to FREDERICK FISHERS to a Shooting Match
we froliced till Late in the Night Than I went home with WM McCAINS

to JNO HUEYS Esqr There I tarry a while (discourseing of her Daughter
JENY) from there to where SAMUEL WARDON Lives from that
to HUGH McCAINS Senier from that to JNO McCAINS for to help
him to Husk corn but the Rain Disappointed him but we froliced

McWHIRTERS from that to WM. RODGERS & turnd in and played
Ball a while than home to my fathers with an intension not for to take

Threshing Wheat in order the Next morning for to begin for to Seed in
Wheat.

the half (the first Wheat I ever Sowed) Late in the even I went to the
Widow OSBOURNS for to help them to Husk corn in the Night when
we got done I went home with JNO OSBOURNS people I aimed for company
with his wifes Daughter after we all went to Bed for past time up I gets
& goes to the girls bed But Išll swer if OSBOURN order me off to
my Bed again the first time ever I was Served So & it made me mad So That
I will not trouble him nor his house Soon again but youšll hear

Plough (Thinking on the inst that hapt Last Night) Late in the eveing
I went to JOSEPH McCOMMANS for to help him for to Husk corn. It
was Late in the Night before we got done than I went home

gave me a free grant for to marry many a time it makes me Laugh to see
how thos girls is takes it- I went home to Dadys & Staid all night Sharp

& I went to WM RINERS for to settle some Business between him and

for to see when he alloted for to sot off for Virjana but when I went
there he was gone Last tusday so I Returned back to the WIDOW NASHES
for to hear a Methodist minister Preach he was begun before I got back
so I got but part from there I went home to my fathers & staid all night

Esqr SHARID GREYS & got 25 Dollars for my brother ALEXDR
3 Dollars & 62-1/2 Cents for uncles & paid GREY 2 Dollars that
I was oweing of him- from there I went to uncles borrowed 25 Dollars from
him & went to JNO STEPHENSONS & took up a Note of Mine 30 Dollars
from there to JNO HUEYS Esqr from that to JNO McCAINS took
up a Note id my brother ALEXDR 20 Dollars I staid all Night-
wen 15 moderate
I went from JNO McCAINS to HUGH RODGERS from that to uncles
& my Aunt being taken voilently sick last thirsday I sot off in order
for to go to Sharlotte to Doct HENDERSON for to see if I could
get any thing that would give her Ease When I got to Sharlott I called
at the Widow MASONS from that to the Docts & got some Medison &
back to the Widows by this time it was Dark I had near 30 miles home so
I sot off it was amazeing Dark by the time I got home it was brak of day
