Paul J. Huffman

    Paul J. Huffman, 74, of Route 1, Lewisville Road, Lewisville, Ohio formerly of Harriettsville, Ohio August 10, 1915, at his home. He was born near Harriettsville August 10, 1915, a son of the late Leo John and Christine
Ann Singer Huffman.
    He was a retired school teacher in the former Elk Local School District at Harriettsville and Switzerland of Ohio School District in Monroe County. He was a graduate of Ohio University, Athens, Ohio, a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church at Burkhart, Ohio and a member of the Elk Township Grange at Harriettsville.
    He was preceded in death by four brothers, Harley, William, Gilbert, and Carl Huffman; two sisters, Kathryn Seebach and Pauline Kohler.
    Surviving are his wife, Lorene Zwick, whom he married May 27, 1940; two daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Mary) Dupoy of Route 1, Beverly, Ohio and Mrs. Steven (Chriss) Baker of Route 3, Woodsfield; four sons, Larry Huffman of Route 2, Marietta, Ohio, Robert Huffman of Route 2, Lowell, Ohio, Reverend David Huffman of Steubenville, Ohio, and Mark Huffman of Route 1, Graysville, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. James (Mildred) Kessler, of Ewington; one brother, John Huffman of Harriettsville; 22 grandchildren.
    Friends were received at the Watters Funeral Home, Woodsfield.

Bennett, Cecil B. Bennett

Cecil B. Bennett, 85, Lutz, FL, died Dec. 12, 1990 at University Community Hospital, Tampa, FL.

He was born at Jerusalem, Dec 3, 1905, son of the late Benoni S. and Mary E. Rice Bennett.

He was a member of the Church of Christ, where he attended at the 53rd Street congregation in Tampa. He was a retired merchant from Bedford, OH and had lived in Florida since 1953.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Jackie Bennett, Rochelle, IL, two granddaughters, Kristi and Kelli Bennett, also of Rochelle; a sister, Ruby Friday, Jerusalem, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lillian Wilson Bennett, in 1971; his second wife, Martha McKee Bennett, 1981; an infant son; two half-brothers and three half-sisters.

Funeral services were held Dec. 17 at Wiley's Funeral Home, Tampa. Burial was in Memory Gardens, Tampa.

Opal L. Johnson

    Opal L. Johnson, 81, of 5325 13th Street SW, Canton, Ohio died January 15, 1990, in Canton following a brief illness. She was born in Seneca township, Monroe County, Calais, Ohio June 14, 1908. She moved to Canton in 1941 and retired in 1973 from Gray Drug Store. She was a member of the 38th Street Church of Christ.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, George Frank Johnson, October 22, 1964; a son, Everett E. Johnson, 1934.
    Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Floyd (Janet) Kinney of Massillon, Ohio and Mrs. Phyllis Liolios of Canton; and Louis S. Johnson of Massillon; one brother, Clesson Stephen of McKeesport, Pennsylvania; three sisters, Mrs. Helma Christman of Miltonsburg, Ohio, Mrs. Grand (Maxine) Christman of Woodsfield, and Mrs. John (Neva) Gray of Columbus, Ohio; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
    Services were held today at 1 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home in Canton with Minister Lance Lindenberger officiating. Burial was in West Lawn Cemetery in Canton.

Betts, Elbert W. Betts

    Elbert W. Betts, 83, of Lewisville, Ohio, died Monday morning, February 12, 1990, at his home.
    He was born October 10, 1906, in Monroe County, Ohio, son of the late Charles Franklin and Rosa Crawford Betts. He was a retired employee of the Ohio Department of Transportation, Monroe County Division, and a member of Buchanan Presbyterian Church.
    He was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers: Sara Marie Betts, August 21, 1941; Clarence Harmon Betts, June 21, 1940; George Harold Betts, November 2, 1939; Vearl Otto Betts, December 24, 1944; Woodrow Franklin Betts, November 26, 1922.
    Mr. Betts leaves his wife, Zelda Weber Betts; five sons, Darrell Betts of Newark, Ohio; Delmas Betts, Russell Betts and Gary Betts, all of Lewisville, Ohio, and Ronald Betts of Spotsylvania, Virginia; one brother, John Junior Betts of Columbus, Ohio; three sisters, Lela Betts Christman of Barnesville, Ohio; Louise Betts Morris of Woodsfield and Mary Eva Betts Christman of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; 20 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
    Friends may call from 2 to 9 p. m. today at Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, Woodsfield, where the services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 14, 1990, with minister Reverend L. Gene Sharp officiating. Burial will be in Buchanan Cemetery.

Ervin E. Stallings

    Ervin E. Stallings, 87, RD 1, Summerfield, Ohio, died Monday, March 19, 1990, at home. He was born, November 22, 1922, near Summerfield, a son of the late Edmund and Rosa Christman Stallings.
    Stalling retired after 32 years of teaching in Noble and Monroe counties. Including Batesville, Summerfield, Lewisville and Noble Local school districts.
    He was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II, a member of the American Legion Post at Summerfield, Summerfield Lodge No. 425 F. & A . M., Carlisle Grange, and a member of the Ohio State Noble County Retired Teachers Association.
    He was preceded in death by a son, Randall Allen and two sisters.
    Surviving are his wife, Betty Stevens Stallings; a daughter, Cynthia Stallings at home; two sisters, Edith Bishop of Caldwell and Lulu McDonald of Grove City, Ohio.
    Services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 22nd , with the Reverend Bill Pickenpaugh officiating. Burial followed in Eastern Cemetery, Summerfield, where full military graveside services were conducted.

Elmer G. Christman

    Elmer G. Christman, 89, of 76 Maple Street, Apple Creek, Ohio died March 15, 1990, at Horn Nursing Home in Wooster, Ohio.
    Born May 5, 1900, at Lewisville, Ohio, son of Jacob and Rachel Matz Christman.
    He moved to Wayne County in 1949 and retired in 1965 after 16 years as a food truck driver for Apple Creek Developmental Center.
    Mr. Christman was a member of St. John’s Evangelical and Reformed Church at Lewisville and Killbuck Valley Sportsman Club at Holmesville, Ohio.
    His wife, Clara Claus Christman died in 1966.
    Mr. Christman is survived by two sons, Melvin Christman of Holmesville and LaVerne Christman of Columbus, Ohio; one daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Gadd of Apple Creek, with whom he made his home; two grandsons and two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Oneda Ludwig of Woodsfield, Mrs. Ruby Mann of Jerusalem, Ohio and Mrs. Vernon (Gladys) Reich of Lewisville.
    Preceding him in death were an infant son, a great-grandchild and three sisters.
    Services will be held Monday, March 19, 1990 at 1 p.m. at Trinity United Church of Christ in Lewisville with the Reverend John Bruce officiating.
    Burial will be in St. John’s Middle Church Cemetery near Lewisville.
    Calling hours are at Custer Funeral Home in Wooster from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday and at the Church in Lewisville one hour before services.
    Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 560 Winter Street, Wooster, OH 44691.

Zelda Christman

    Zelda Christman, 82, of 206 Fourth Street, Woodsfield, Ohio died August 1, 1990, at Guernsey Memorial Hospital, Cambridge. She was born July 20, 1908, at Rinard Mills, a daughter of the late Lydia Jane Gardner.
    She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Woodsfield.
    She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
    Surviving are one son, of Woodsfield; one granddaughter, Kathy Dimmerling, of Woodsfield and one great-grandson, Bret Dimmerling of Woodsfield; several nieces and nephews.
    Friends were received at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home where services were held August 4 at 1 p.m. with Reverend Dennis Bewley officiating. Burial in Oaklawn Cemetery, Woodsfield.

    Lewis E. Weber, went to be with the Lord on October 1, 1990.
    Born on March 24, 1916, in Lewisville, Ohio, he was a resident of Akron for the past 40 years. He was a retired cabinetmaker.
    He was a good and decent man who cared deeply for his family and is survived by his beloved wife, Mary; sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Alma of St. Charles, Illinois; David and Jane of Mogadore, Ray and Patti of Bath; Gregory and Diana of Coventry, and Lowell and Janet of Wadsworth; 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Elmer, and is survived by brother, Paul of Universal City, Texas; sisters, Catherine Weber of Brookville, Florida, Marjorie Cadwallader of New Port Richey, Florida, and Dorothy Pettit of Akron.
    Services will be held Friday, 11 a.m., at the Billow Fairlawn Chapel, 85 N. Miller Road, with Pastor Rich Messenger officiating. Interment at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Billy Graham Association, or American Cancer Society, 3085 West market Street, Suite 101, Akron, Ohio 44333.

    George W. Kahrig, 81, 34801 Township Road 39, Lewisville, Ohio, died in the Barnesville Hospital on October 31, 1990. He was born November 14, 1908, in Monroe County, Ohio, a son of the late Phillip and Louisa Pfalzgraf Kahrig.
    He was a retired farmer and member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Lewisville.
    He was preceded in death by a daughter, Viola Kahrig Paulus; a brother, Edwin and a sister, Pauline Kahrig Christman.
    Surviving are his wife, Laura Christman Kahrig; three sons, Wayne, of Wooster, Ohio, Meredith of Woodsfield, and Wilfred of Creston, Ohio; three daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Letha) Shipe of Senecaville, Ohio, Mrs. Otto (Lillian) Kaiser of Strasburg, Ohio, and Mrs. Fred (Edilene) Coblentz of Medina, Ohio; four brothers, Ben of Byesville, Ohio, Homer of Salesville, Ohio, Alfred and Lawrence both of Lewisville; three sisters, Marie Kahrig Brooks of Mantua, Ohio, Mrs. Clem (Sophia) Kahrig Reischman of Barnesville, Ohio, and Minnie Kahrig Walters of Marietta, Ohio; 21 grandchildren, and 27
great-grandchildren.
    Friends were received at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, Woodsfield, where services were held at 1:30 p.m. November 3, with Russell Atkinson officiating. Burial followed in Middle Church Cemetery, near Lewisville

Lawrence H. Christman

Lawrence H. Christman, 87, Bucyrus, died September 13, 1990, in Heartland of Bucyrus, Ohio. The son of Jacob and Anna Claus Christman, he was born August 6, 1903, in Monroe County, Ohio. He married Martha (Campbell) Christman June 1, 1935. She survives. Also surviving are three children: Mrs. Thomas (Carol) Creger and Mrs. Gerald (Jeanette) Harris, Bucyrus, and Dale Christman, Galion, Ohio; five half-brothers; Thurman Christman, Jerusalem, Ohio; Delmar Christman, Nevada; Wilbur Christman, Caledonia; Edward Christman, Bolivar; and Robert Christman, Bucyrus, Ohio; a half sister, Louise Bowers, Bucyrus; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were a brother, Ernest Christman, and a sister, Celesta Welty.

A member of Zion Chapel United Methodist Church, Lawrence moved to Crawford County in 1925. He was employed by the Elger Pfleiderer family for seven years and then bred and raised Angus cattle on his farm. Funeral services were held in the Wise Funeral Home with the Reverend Jack Hay officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery, Sulphur Springs.

Victoria Kinkade, nee Laurence

GRANGER–Victoria Kinkade, 93, passed away January 24, 1990 at Soule Adult Foster Home in Granger.

She was born in Mayfield, Pa. on September 17, 1896 to John and Regina (Tokarczyk) Laurence. They came to Washington from Pennsylvania later moving to Granger from Cle Elum in 1904. She worked at the Granger Library for a number of years.

Victoria and Frank Kinkade were married in Yakima on January 24, 1945.

She was a member of the Catholic Church.

Victoria is survived by a step-son, Al Kinkade of Calif.; four step-daughters, Ellen Dahl of Sunnyside, Katie Wattenbarger of Mabton, Mabel McDaniels of Sunnyside, Sylvia Dobrauc of Grandview; two brothers, Andrew Laurence of Idaho and Paul Laurence of Springdale, Wash.; five sisters, Antoinette Hill of Roslyn, Wash., Julia Ziomek, Marie Mitchell and Pauline Backs all of Bremerton, and Rosalie Laurence of Cle Elum.

She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great, and great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Kinkade in 1963; a step-son, Harry Kinkade in 1988, a step-daughter, Nancy Hatch in 1989; two sisters, Ann Schwab in 1971 and Tekla Laurence in 1897.

Rosary will be recited Tuesday, January 30, 1990 at Valley Hills Mortuary, in Sunnyside at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, January 31, at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Sunnyside. Viewing will be held January 30 from 12 to 8 p.m.

Memorials in memory of Mrs. Kinkade may be made to the Soule Adult Foster Home, 1441 Hudson Rd., Granger, Wa, 98932.

George W. Mallett

George W. Mallett, 77, died Dec 27, 1990, at Berger Hospital, Circleville, Ohio. He was born Aug. 10, 1913, IN Monroe County, the son of the late Ernest and Etta Mae ( McConnell) Mallett. He was a Teacher for 45 years. He is survivesd by his wife, Geneva (Smith) Mallett; one son, Rev. Larry and Jane Mallett, Indiana; two daughters, Sara Davis, and Mrs. Terry (Teresa) Frazier, both of Circleville; two sisters, Mrs. D. C. (Mildred) Young, Zanesville, and Mrs. Alvin (Katharine) Townley, Brooksville, Fla, and eight grandchildren. He was proceded in death by one brother, John Mallett. Services were held Dec. 31 at the Defenbaugh-Wise Funeral Home, Circleville. with Pastor Gene Bensch officiating. Burial was in Forest Cementery.

Gladys Mallett nee Ullman

Gladys Mallett, 81, Beallsville, Ohio, died Dec. 29, 1990, in Barnesville Hospital. She was born Sept 30, 1909, at Stafford, a daughter of the late Henry and Caroline (Schwartz) Ullman. She attended the First Christian Church, Beallsville. She is survived by a son, Roy, Beallsville; one grandson, Dan Mallett, Beallsville, two granddaughters, Mrs. Jack (Peggy) Douglas and Mrs. Brad (Patty) McGlumphy, both of Barnesville; five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, F. D. "Dick" Mallett in 1975, and three brothers, Herbert, Walter, and Harold Ullman. Friends were received at the Harper Funeral Home, Beallsville, where services were held Jan. 1, with Wayne Clark and Gus Andrews officiating. Internment was in Beallsville Cemetery.

Eunice M. Mallett nee Ullman

Eunice M. Mallett, 79, 1828 Richmond Road, Lakeland, FL, died Dec 9, 1990, at her home. She was born Feb 12, 1911, a daughter of the late R. Herbert and Mary (McConnell) Ullman. A former resident of Mansfield, she had spent the last 16 years in Lakeland. She was a retired secretary. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post No 16, Mansfield; the First United Methodist Church, Lakeland, and the Homebuilders Sunday School Class. She is survived by her husband, James H. Mallett, Lakeland; daughter, Martha Rose Mossbarger, Lakeland; sister, Irene Hogue; Lewisville, Ohio; brother, Raymond H. Ullman Jr., Marietta; three grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Funeral services were held Dec 12, at the Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in the Oak Hill Burial Park, Lakeland.

Nellie M. Smittle

Smittle Nellie M. Smittle, 70, of 36467 Ohio 7, Sardis, O., died Friday, Aug. 17, 1990 at home. She was a Protestant. She was preceded in death by her husband, H. Woodrow, in 1967; 4 brothers; 2 sisters. Surviving are a son, Charles of Sardis; a brother, George Lehman of Paden City. Friends were received Sunday at Rush Funeral Home, Sardis, where services were held at 1 p.m. Monday. Entombment in Northview Mausoleum, New Martinsville, WV.

Walter McCurdy

Walter McCurdy, 86, of 430 Douglas Ave., died at 11:39 p.m. Saturday, June 2, in Marietta Memorial Hospital shortly after arrival.

He was born Dec. 11, 1903, in Marietta to Douglas A. and Clara Belle Medley McCurdy. He was a lifelong resident of Marietta and had worked for various companies, including the Lafayette and Wakefield hotels, Cinema Theatre, and Becker Motors. He was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Offenberger, whom he married Nov. 24, 1955; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Hazel Boso McCurdy, in 1953; four sisters; and six brothers.

Funeral Liturgy will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Monsignor Edward Kakascik officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Tuesday. Vigil services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary's Catholic Church at Marietta.

    Harrington, Audra L.,83, Circleville, died Sunday April 8, 1990, at Mount Carmel Hospital, Columbus.
    Born, Jan.24, 1907, in Woodsfield, she was the daughter of Will and Ola Hodge Young. She was the owner and operator of the Harrington Beauty Shop for 59 years, a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Elizabeth Circle.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Harrington, in 1983, and one son, William Harrington, in 1986.
    She is survived by one son, Richard E. Harrington, Alexandria, Va.; one daughter, Patricia Sue Reynolds, Circleville; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; one brother, Irvin Young, Canton; four sisters, Leora Weber, Illinois; Mrs. Mary Mabel Steele, Woodsfield;Wilene Jackson, Woodsfield; Edyth Young, Louisville.
    Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Luthern Church with Pastor Roy Godfrey officiating. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery.

Raymond W. Hensel

Raymond W. Hensel, 81, of Brownsville Jericho Road, New Matamoras, died Wednesday evening, May 2, 1990 at his home. He was born August 4, 1908 in Benton Township, a son of James Oliver and Mary Emily Blazer Hensel. He was a retired farmer school bus driver and mechanic. He was a member of the Brownsville Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by 7 brothers and 1 sister.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Bonam Hensel, 2 sons Lewis Dean Hensel, New Matamoras, one daughter, Sharon Ritchie, New Matamoras, 1 brother Elmer Hensel, New Matamoras, 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Buried: Plainview Cemetery, Antioch, Ohio

Vern O. Morris

Vern O. Morris, TALLMADGE -- Vern O. Morris, 82, died March 1, 1990. Mr. Morris worked most of his life as a skilled machinist, with his last employment being with Freitag Co. He was born in WV, and had lived in Tallmadge since 1935. He was a member of the Tallmadge Alliance Church, and a U. S. Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by his wife, E. Kathleen, and is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Enid and Robert M. Works of Bloomington, Minn.; sister, Iva Webster of Akron; grandchildren, Nathan, Benjamin, Peter and Trina.

"Oracle" - November 28, 1990 CHARLES E. HISSOM Died Nov 1, 1990 Charles "Pete" E. Hissom, 71, of Mentor, 0., died Nov. 1 at his home. He was born July 4, 1919, in St. Marys and had lived in West Virginia before moving to Mentor 34 years ago. He was a 1938 graduate of St. Marys High School. He retired as a machinist from the former Cleveland Crane and Engineering in Wickliff with more than 30 years of service and was a World War II Marine Corps veteran. He was a member of North Mentor Centenary Church and Quarter Century Club with Cleveland Crane and Engineering and formerly served on the Mentor Fire Department as a captain for 26 years. Survivors include his wife. Betty (Baker); two sons, Randy of Nazareth, Pa. and Rick of Coconut Creek. Fla.; one daughter. Mrs. Leonard (Becky) Bieder of Mentor; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. Funeral services were held Nov. 4 with the Rev. Martha Mathatas of North Mentor Centenary Church and the Rev. Barbara Rosenberry officiating. Burial was in Mentor. FORMER PUBLIC OFFICIAL IS DEAD

P. Lee Fetty, former member of the Wetzel County Board of Education and former city councilman in New Martinsville, died Thursday in the New Martinsville Health Care Center. He was 75.

A resident of Pine Grove, he was born Jan. 21, 1915 in Chisel Finger Ridge, Wetzel County.

Fetty was a member of the Board of Education for 12 years, serving from 1956-68, and was a member of New Martinsville City Council from 1948-50. He was a retired construction worker for Laborers Local Union 1149, Wheeling, where he was a business agent from 1958-60, and served on the Civil Service Commission in New Martinsville from 1984-86.

He was a member of the Church of God, Minnie, W.Va., and was a member of the I.O.O.F. of New Martinsville.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Imogene Staley Fetty, on Aug. 23, 1985. Surviving are a son, Wayne L. of New Martinsville; a daughter, Mrs. Howard Cork of Pine Grove; a half-brother, Harold Powell of New Martinsville, a half-sister, Anna Belle Powell of New Martinsville; three grandchildren.

Friends were received at Grisell Funeral Home, Ratcliffe Chapel, New Martinsville, where services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Gary Walker officiating. Interment in Paden Memorial Gardens.

Ross A. Staley, 72 of Porters Falls, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 1990, in Wetzel County Hospital, New Martinsville. He was a retired employee of Columbia Gas Co., Majorsville, WV, a Protestant and an Army veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife Reba Virginia Rush Staley on Feb. 15, 1989.

Surviving are a son, Jerry of Chisel Finger; a daughter, Charlotte Ludwig of Swanton, O.; a brother, John of Fairport, O.; six sisters, Ola Sams of Pine Grove, Myrtle Balwantz of New Martinsville, Grace Stackpole of Paden City, Donna Siebel of Cleveland, Virginia Stackpole of Rootstown, O., and Betty Oliver of LaVale, Md.; seven grandchildren, a great-grandchild.

Friends were received Sunday at Palmer Funeral Home, Pine Grove, where services were held at 1 p.m. Monday. Interment in Greenlawn Memorial Park, New Martinsville.

BARNESVILLE---Shelvy Baker, 82, of Leatherwood Road, Barnesville, died Sunday (Aug. 5, 1990) at his home. He was born March 6, 1908, in Marshall County, W.Va., son of the late Russell and Retta McClintock. He was a retired truck driver for Kovacs Trucking Co., Flushing, and a Methodist by faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marguerite Baker in 1986 and one brother, Dexter Baker. Mr. Baker leaves one son, Dale Baker of Barnesville; one brother Grover Baker of Barnesville; one sister, Stella Fadorka of Old Washington; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Oval Dana Morris

Oval Dana Morris, 89, of Oak Grove died at 9:30 p.m. Thursday, March 22, in The Arbors of Marietta nursing home.

He was born Dec.31, 1900 at Wingett Run to William and Emma Moose Morris. He spent most of his life in the Oak Grove Community where he was a truck farmer for 50 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and Marietta Truck Growers Association.

On Oct. 18, 1924, he married Helena Wagner, who preceded him in death on Aug. 12, 1989.

He is survived by one son, Charles Patrick Morris of Williamstown; four grandchildren, Bradley A. Morris and Traci Cogswell, both of Marietta, Terri Ash of Germany and Julia Insco of Bethel Park, Pa.: and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant son Dana Lee Morris, four brothers and one sister.

Committal Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at East Lawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Clifford Nuss officiating. Burial will be in the Valley Cemetery. Friends may call at McClure-Shafer Funeral Home on Sunday. The family will be present from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.

Eileen R. Stacy nee Hensel

Perry Township resident, Eileen R. Stacy, 66, of 5841 Richville Drive S.W., Perry township died Friday evening (Nov. 16, 1990) in Aultman Hospital in Canton.

Mrs. Stacy lived most of her life in the Canton area and was a former employee of Name Brand Furniture. She was a member of the Eleventh Street Church of God.

Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Carl Stacy Sr., of the home; her son, Carl Stacy Jr. of Richville; three daughters, Mrs. Billy (Phyllis K.) Dye of Canton, Mrs. Butch (Shiela I.) Mikes of Richville and Mrs. Larry (Tangee L.) Altimore of Massillon; two brothers, Richard Hensel of Wheeling, W.Va; four grandsons; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Mary Hensel.

The funeral will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy M. Shafer and the Rev. Clifford J. Thor officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park.

Friends may call today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in her name to the Eleventh Street church of God.

In addition to her parents she is survived by a brother, Joshua Rush; maternal grandparents, Pete and Shirley Jean Weyrick of Lewisville; paternal grandparents, Frank and Vera Bates of Cincinnati; maternal great grandparents, O. B. and Lola Cleveland of Lewisville.

Hazel I. Jackson, 68, of 148 Kennard Ave., Barnesville, died Friday in Barnesville Hospital. She was born March 6, 1922 in Belmont County, a daughter of the late Welda and Edna Huntsman Stephen. She was a member of the Boston Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie; two sons, Johnnie and Jimmie; two brothers; one sister.

Surviving are one son, Ronnie of Barnesville; one daughter, Melinda Bailes of Barnesville; two brothers, Ruben Stephen of Barnesville and Bobby Stephen of St. Clairsville; two sisters, Martha Eddy of Barnesville and Eileen Wehr of Canton; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Freda J. Hines, 91, formerly of 713 Bruce St., died Saturday morning at Brethren Care Nursing Home following a long illness.

She was born Jan. 17, 1899, in Monroe County, the daughter of Richard and Leticia Daugherty Bates.

Mrs. Hines had been a resident of the Ashland area most of her life. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Steele Avenue Church of Christ. She was a former member of Ashland Senior Citizens.

She is survived by one son, Harold R. Eddington of Ormand Beach, Fla.; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; one brother, William Bates of Crooksville, three sisters, Grace Turner and Emma Nalley, both of Woodsfield and Mary Kelch of Sistersville, W.Va.; and four half-sisters, Gladys Highman, Jane Strickling, Edith Brown and Eleanor Weber, all of Woodsfield.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Hines, in 1988.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. today in Heyl Funeral Home with Travis D. Irwin officiating. Burial will be in Nankin Cemetery.

The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Steele Avenue Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald D. Stewart, on Aug. 3, 1985, and by one sister.

Mrs. Stewart leaves two sons, Tommy D. Stewart and Donald A. Stewart, both of Cambridge; one daughter, Mrs. William (Carolyn) Mitchell of Cambridge;

one brother, Skip Fortney of Clarksburg, W.Va.; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
