Erwin Bauer;  Pub. 1965-03-19:  DN:  Erwin Bauer, well-known blacksmith in Ree Heights, died Tuesday night [March 16, 1965 ?] at Memorial Hospital following a heart attack suffered Friday evening.  Funeral services will be held at the local Congregational Church Saturday afternoon, with Rev. Norman Kirch officiating.  Burial will be in the Ree Heights cemetery.

Erwin Bauer;
  Pub. 1965-03-26:  Funeral services were held Saturday, March 20, 1965 at the Ree Heights Congregational Church for J. Erwin Bauer, 50, with the Rev. Norman Kirsch in charge.  Burial was in Morningside Cemetery.  John Edwin Bauer was born at Miller February 11, 1915, to Anne Marie and Winfield S. Bauer.  He was a lifelong resident of Hand County.  He married Marion Pearson November 25, 1940 at Pipestone, Minnesota.  In 1943 they moved to Ree Heights, where he operated the Bauer's Blacksmith and Welding Shop.

Rev. Albert Bolton; 
Pub. 1965-03-19:  The Rev. Albert Bolton, the pastor of the United Church of Christ, Spring Valley, Minnesota, died of a heart attack Friday [March 12, 1965?]  Rev. Bolton, a linguist who served as interpreter for Lyndon Johnson when he was Vice President, spoke 12 languages. ....Born in Jamaica and educated in Jamica, London and the United States, he was former director of Lutheran World Relief in London and Paris.  Before going to the Spring Valley, Minnesota church in 1963, Rev. Bolton served in the Ree Heights Church.

Ben Hoogestraat;
  Pub. 1965-04-30:  Funeral services were held for Ben Hoogestraat, Hand County Commissioner, were held Saturday afternoon at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Miller with Rev. John Kilde officiating.

Miss Bertha Fawcett;  Pub. 1965-01-08:  DN: Miss Bertha Fawcett, 30, died Saturday [January 2, 1965?] at the home of her parents, following a long illness.  The funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday from the Cedar Congregational Church.  The Rev. David Brown, Huron, and Norman Kirsch officiated.  Burial was in Morningside Cemetery.

Cornelius Malachi Grogan:  Pub. 1965-03-12:  Last rites for Cornelius Malachi Grogan were held Monday afternoon at the Reck Funeral Chapel.  He died in Memorial Hospital Thursday [March 4, 1965?] of injuries suffered in a car accident February 23.  The Rev. Tyra Talley officiated and burial was in the GAR Cemetery.

Bert Jones;
  Pub. 1965-03-12:  Funeral services were held Monday morning at the Reck Funeral Home for Bert Jones, long-time resident of Ree Heights, who died at Memorial Hospital March 5, 1965 at the age of 87 and some months.

Mrs. Kittie Kane;
  Pub. 1965-05-28:  Mrs. Kittie Kane of Portland, Oregon, died May 13, 1965 at the home of her granddaughter.  She was 88 years old.  She is survived by five daughters, Goldie Shaw, Sylvia Dixon, Pearl Lewis, Hazel Able and Josephine Brown and two sisters, Mrs. Jessie Almond of Portland, Oregon and Mrs. Clara Hammill, Ree Heights.

Mrs. Philip (Barbara Gramm) Kost:  Pub. 1965-02-12:  Funeral services for Mrs. Philip Kost will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Miller with the Rev. John C. Kilde officiating.  Barbara Gramm Kost was born November 17, 1876 in Kassel, Germany and came to America when she was eight years old.  She was married to Philip Kost February 23, 1897 at Olivet.  They lived south of Ree Heights from 1917 until her husband's death in 1951.  Since then she made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Theophil Kost and Edwin Kost on their farm north of Miller.

Cecil S. Scott;  Pub. 1965-02-05:  DN:  Cecil S. Scott, a native of Hand County, died Wednesday [ prob. January 27, 1965 - ssdi says Jan., not Feb.] at Oroville, California.  He was born April 10, 1890 to John and Sarah Scott.  He married Jessie Peterka in 1915.  Mrs. Scott was a sister of Ed and Joe Peterka.
