Ferne L. Westby, 73, of Huron died Wednesday, February 6, 1991, at Huron Regional Medical Center.
The funeral was held Monday, February 11, at Bonilla Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Donald Seeger officiating. Burial was in Bonilla Cemetery.
Ferne Lucille Bales was born October 21, 1917, to James and Lillian (Bussell) Bales at Bonilla.
On November 23, 1935, she married Thomas Westby, and they lived in the Wessington and Miller areas. After his death in 1983, she moved to Huron where shw spent the rest of her life.
Survivors include ten sons, Merlyn of Evansville, Wyoming, Myron of Denver, Colorado, James of Kimball, Nebraska, Jerald of Leonard, North Dakota, Doyle of Kimball, Nebraska, Dallas of Wessington, Carroll of Abilene, Kansas, Curtis of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, Warren of Rapid City and Clair of Satellite Beach, Florida; two daughters, Mrs. Jerald (Linda) Kling of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, and Mrs. David (Jean) Lawler, Huron; forty-four grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and eight brothers, Clark, Stanley, Glenn, Clayton, Ed, Marvin, Robert and Richard Bales.
She was preceded in death by her husband on January 6, 1983, and her parents.
Pallbearers were Melvin Lips, Joe Thiel, Vince Lumby, Jim Novacek, Richard Joy and Don Holley.
A memorial has been established.
