Mathilda E. Slunecka, 91, of Miller died Sunday, April 25, 1993, at Prairie Good Samaritan Center in Miller, South Dakota.
Funeral services were held Thursday, April 29, at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Miller with Reverend Donald Molumby officiating. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Mathilda "Tilllie" Schlechter was born March 23, 1902, at Polo, the daughter of Anton and Mathilda (Schaefer) Schlechter. She grew up in the Polo area and married John L. Slunecka June 5, 1924 at Polo. They made their home and raised their family on a farm near Polo.
In 1985, she moved to the Highmore Manor. She moved to Miller Manor in 1987 and entered Prairie Good Samaritan Center in 1992.
She was a member of the St. Liborius Catholic Church, St. Frances Band and the Christian Mothers of Polo. She later was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church and St. Theresa's Band of Miller.
In 1950, she was a charter member of the Willing Workers Extension Club.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Duane and Barbara Slunecka and Robert and Doris Slunecka, both of Miller; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; three sister, twin sister Mrs. Minnie Slunecka of Cherolkee, Iowa, Mrs. Eleanor Campbell of Miller and Mrs. Bernadine Oligmueller of Highmore.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in May of 1970, four brothers and three sisters.
