John A. Siegling 1884-1965
The funeral service for John A. (August Carl) Siegling, 80, of Miller, who died Saturday, (April 17, 1965) was held at 2:00 p.m. at Reck Funeral Home. The Rev. Norman A. Conklin officiated. Burial was in the GAR Cemetery.
Siegling was born December 3, 1884 at Iowa City, Iowa to Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Bertha Schmidt) Siegling. He came to South Dakota in 1902, and settled in Burdette Township.
He was married to Bertha Mast, (daughter of Adolph & Anna (Kaiser) Mast, Sr.) March 27, 1910. In 1946 they moved to Miller where they resided for three years. They lived in the St. Lawrence area until 1956, when they returned to Miller.
Survivors include his widow, two daughters, Edna, Mrs. Ross Q. Bingham, St. Lawrence; Myra, Mrs. Maurice Christian, Wessington' three sons, Milo, St. Lawrence; Keneth, Redfield; Darrell, Wessington; 12 grandchildren, two brothers, Henry and Otto, both of Tulare and two sisters, Mrs. Emma (Alfred) Roeber, Miller, and Mrs. Esther (Walter) Schultz, Tulare.
Siegliing was preceded in death by his parents, one brother (Edwin), two sisters, Clara (Otto) Schultz and Marie (Herman) Schultz, and one grandson, (Ronald R. Bingham).
