Josephine McKelvey was born in Ireton, Iowa, May 13, 1888. She has been a resident of Miller since 1910, when she and her husband came to Miller and purchased the Coquilette Furniture and Undertaking establishment. Two years later the business was moved to the Bushfield building.
Following her husband's death in July, 1940, she continued to operate the business, disposing of it about five years ago, and retaining ownership and operation, with the assistance of her son, John M. Reck, of the Reck Funeral Home. Until her health failed, she maintained a daily interest in the business.
She is survived by her son, John and one daughter, Judy, Mrs Loren Busch of McMinnville, Oregon, and several grandchildren.
