Mrs. E. O. (Josephine) Reck, prominent business woman of Miller, died Tuesday afternoon, June 3, 1969, at her home.  Mrs. Reck had suffered with a heart ailment for some time, and had been confined to her home for several weeks.

Funeral rites will be conducted Saturday afternoon, June 7, at 3:30, at the United Presbyterian Church.  Rev. Tyra Talley will officiate at the service, and interment will be made in the GAR cemetery.

All business places in Miller will be closed for one hour, from 3:30-4:30, during the funeral.

In keeping with her wish, the family requested that all memorials be made to the Children's Home and Society for Crippled Children.

Josephine McKelvey was born in Ireton, Iowa, May 13, 1888.  She has been a resident of Miller since 1910, when she and her husband came to Miller and purchased the Coquilette Furniture and Undertaking establishment.  Two years later the business was moved to the Bushfield building.

Following her husband's death in July, 1940, she continued to operate the business, disposing of it about five years ago, and retaining ownership and operation, with the assistance of her son, John M. Reck, of the Reck Funeral Home.  Until her health failed, she maintained a daily interest in the business.

She is survived by her son, John and one daughter, Judy, Mrs Loren Busch of McMinnville, Oregon, and several grandchildren.
