George N. Muth, 85, Rapid City, died Wednesday, February 14, 1990 at the Rapid City
George N. Muth was born April 30, 1904 on a farm south of St. Lawrence to Mr. and Mrs. Karl (Rosa) Muth.
He lived in the St. Lawrence area until moving to Rapid City in 1958. He owned and
operated his own trucking business for 40 years. The last years he leased to Buckingham Freight, hauling lumber out of Spearfish and steel out of Hammond, Indiana. After retiring he had been an escort pilot for mobile homes.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dolorous (Dehart) Muth of Rapid City; one son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Gwen Muth, Sturgis; one daughter, Bettylou Carter, Venice,
Florida; one brother, Fred Muth, California; dear friends, Virginia and Bud Stearns,
Colorago Springs, Colorado; 13 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and three brothers, and one infant
The funeral was held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 19 at the Reck Funeral Home, Miller, South Dakota with the Rev. Lee J. Smith officiating. Burial was in the St. Lawrence Cemetery, St. Lawrence, SD.
Pallbearers were grandchildren, Nicholas, Jim J., Timothy, and Thomas Carter, Michael R., Larry Joe and Robert Lee Stearns and Scott and Gary Muth.
