Funeral services for Rudolph Melhoff, 79, will be held Thursday, July 11, 1985 at Trinity
Lutheran Church at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Fred Rosin officiating. Burial will be in the GAR cemetery, Miller.
Pallbearers will be Darvin Heyd, Ronnie Heyd, Vince Lumby, Helmuth 'Dutchy' Huber,
Loren Newell and Roger Engelcke.
Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon after 4:00 and evening at Reck Funeral Home.
Rudolph Melhoff was born March 1, 1906 at Garrison, North Dakota and died Monday, July 8, 1985 at Hand County Memorial Hospital.
He moved to Hosmer, South Dakota in 1927 where he was a barber and owned the theatre with his brother.
He married Flora Kranzler February 22, 1930 in Hosmer. In 1948 they moved to Miller
where he owned and operated Melhoff's Super Valu until his retirement in 1969.
They lived 2 1/2 years in El Paso, Texas, when moved back to Miller in 1975.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Flora, Miller; a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Mary Ann
Melhoff, El Paso, Texas; four grandchildren; one great-grandson and one sister, Mrs.
Martha Mittlieder, Page, North Dakota.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers.
