Emil Lawrence Klapperich, 81, of Turton, died Friday, July 11, 1986 at Community Memorial Hospital. (Redfield, SD).
The funeral was 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Turton, with the Rev. William Osborn officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Emil Lawrence Klapperich was born January 26, 1905, at Turton, South Dakota.
He married Mary Halfman September 28, 1926 at Turton. They lived on a farm near Turton and Conde until 1944 when they moved to Redfield. He later worked for A & B Chevrolet in Redfield. In 1946 he moved to St. Lawrence. In 1976 they returned to Turton.
He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife of Redfield; six daughters, Mrs. Claude (Delores) Hamilton, and Mrs. Vince (Marjorie) Moon, both of Redfield, Mrs. Ethel Hagen of Orient, Mrs. Daryl (JoAnne) McGirr of Olathe, Colorado, Mrs. Phyllis Merrill and Mrs. Art (Rose Marie) Forester, both of Kearney, Nebraska, three sons, Robert, Lincoln, Nebraska, Donald, Rapid City, and Michael of Ann Arbor, Michigan; two brother, Vincent of Weslaco, Texas and Gerald of Downey, California; four sisters, Mrs. Louise Remily of Aberdeen, Mrs. Julia Dunn of Turton, Mrs. Agnes Whhite, Dexter, Michigan and Mrs. Bertha Remily,
Conde; 41 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one infant son, two brothers, one sister, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
