Louis T. Jarmuth, 93, died Saturday * (Sept. 24, 1977?) at an Eastland, Texas hospital.
Before moving to Texas, he was active in banking for many years in St. Lawrence and Miller, South Dakota.
Mr. Jarmuth was born March 21, 1884 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Henry and Lena Jarmuth.
He attended Mankato Business College after which he moved to St. Lawrence where he operated the First State Bank.
In the early thirties, he moved to Miller where he was associated with the First National Bank until his retirement in 1949. He was the Bank's president in 1948.
Lou, as he was known to his friends, was married to Ida W. Brobow, September 25, 1907 in Jackson, Minneosta. To this union one son was born, Alton Fred, who passed away in 1959. After the death of Ida in 1947, Lou was married to Belle Watson on December 23, 1960 in Cisco, Texas where they have lived.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, El Riad Shriners and Eastern Star.
Survivors include his wife, Belle Jarmuth, Cisco, Texas; sister, Mrs. Freda Bute, Jackson, MN; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Lillie Jarmuth, Cypress, CA; granddaughters, Mrs. Beverly Jarmuth Babb, Cypress, CA and Mrs. Deanna Jarmuth Stilmack, Summerville, SC and six great=grandchildren.
The funeral was held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Reck Funeral Home with Rev. Perkins Patton conducting the service. Interment was in the GAR cemetery. Pallbearers were members of St. Lawrence Lodge, No. 39, A.F. and A.M. Masonic graveside rites were conducted.
