Mary Ellen "Mac" Herold, 82, of Aberdeen died Sunday, May 7, 1995, at her home.
Funeral services were held May 10 at Our Savior Lutheran Church with Rev. Terry Nasz
officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mary Ellen McKelvey was born February 10, 1913, to Hugh and Edna (Porter) McKelvey in Glendale Township, Hand County. This is the area where she attended school, graduating from Ree Heights High School in 1931. She attended Northern Normal and Industrial School in Aberdeen, and business college in Mankato, Minnesota.
She returned to Orient and married Hjalmer Larson on November 24, 1938, in Ree Heights. They made their home in Faulkton, where they operated several businesses until they retired in the mid-1970s in Faulkton. She then became deputy auditor for Faulk County until she retired. They wintered in Mesa, Arizona. He died November 8, 1981. She made Mesa her home.
She married Walter B. Herold on February 14, 1987 in Mesa. They made their home in
Survivors include her husband Walter of Aberdeen; one son, Terry Larson of Grandada
Hills, California; one daughter, Mrs. David (Marilyn) Schuyler of Seattle; one adopted son, Peter Van Houdt of Granada Hills; two sisters, Mrs. Beryle Kelly of Miller, and Mrs. Pat (Helen) Goth of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; and one granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, one adopted daughter and
