Last rite was held Saturday at St. Ann's Catholic Church for Larry D. Fanning, 28, who was killed July 1, 1970 in a logging accident at Mossyrock, Washington. The Rev. Albin Bialoglowski, Wessington, officiated. Burial was in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Miller, South Dakota.
Fanning, son of Mr. and Mrs. John (Jessie Perrott), was born January 6, 1942, at Miller. He attended school in St. Lawrence and spent his life in Hand County with the exception of 3 1/2 years in the service in Germany and as an honor guard in Washington, D.C.
He was married to Charlene Wiand, Wolsey, November 14, 1964. The past year the family had resided at Mossyrock where he was employed by Fred Moe Logging Company.
Survivors include his widown, Charlene and two children, Tracy, 5, and Kristi 3, Mossyrock; his mother, Mrs. Jessie Fanning, St. Lawrence; eight sisters, Mrs. George (Cleo) Bryant, Mrs. Ted (Leone) Perkins, Mossyrock, Washington; Mrs. Albert (Lorraine) Stratton, Mrs. (Anne) William Antonechuck, Nadine Fanning, all of Reno, Nevada; Mrs. Max (Beth) Bonebright, St. Paul, Minnesota; Mrs. Eugene (Dessie) Price, Miller; Mrs. (Donna) Bernard Coss, St. Lawrence; three brothers, Vincent, San Antonio, Texas; Joe, Mossyrock; Washington, and Jack, St. Lawrence.
He was preceded in death by his father John (Jack) and a brother Gary (Aug. 1964) preceded him in death.
