Clifford E. Will, age 87, of Kimball, S.D. died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004 at Mid Dakota
Hospital in Chamberlain. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the St. Margaret's
Catholic Church, with burial at St. Margaret's Catholic Cemetery.
Clifford E. Will, son of Jay and Florence (Jones) Will, was born October 8, 1916, on the
family ranch in rural Kimball, Lyon Township, South Dakota. He grew up and attended
country school in rural Kimball. Cliff graduated from Kimball High School in 1934.
Following this schooling he farmed and ranched with his father.
Cliff married Altas Conley September 11, 1941 at Kimball. The couple made their home
on a ranch near Lyonville, S.D. Later they moved to a ranch one mile north of Lyonville.
Cliff ranched his entire life in Brule County, Lyon Township, South Dakota. In 1973 they
built a new home 13 miles north of Kimball on Highway 45. In 1993 the couple moved
into Kimball. In May 2002 they moved into Prairie Assisted Living.
Cliff was a member of St. Margaret's Catholic Church. He served on the Lyon Township
Board and was treasurer of the township and the school board for rural schools.
Cliff was always very proud of his cattle and later in his life enjoyed showing them with his grandchildren.
Grateful for having shared his life are his three daughters, Nancy (Wayne) Olson of
Kimball, Sherry (Larry) Hurd of Rockham, and Jean (Mike) Murley of Omaha, Neb.; 12
grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Cora (Kenny) Jones of Mitchell, and
Hazel (Norman) Fuegen of Chamberlain.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Altas, on February 11, 2003; his parents; and a
Clifford E. Will
