Louis A. Welbes, Houston, Texas, died Tuesday, May 4, 2004.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated Friday, May 7, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. He
was buried at Houston National Cemetery.
He was born in Miller, South Dakota, May 15, 1916. He served in the U.S. Army Engineers in World War II. Two years were spent in the European Theater, including the Battle of the Bulge.
He was a member of the American Legion #560 and a long time member of St. Rose of
Lima Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife of 61years, Maxine; sons, Timothy (Peggy) and Robert;
daughter, Kelly (Frank) Abagnale; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and six brothers.
