Mary Carolyn Duncan, 73, of Winnebago, Neb., formerly of Sioux City, Iowa, died
Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at Hoffmeister Homes in Genoa, Neb., following a lengthy
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
She was born November 20, 1930, in Sioux Falls, S.D., to Donald and Dorothy (Kelley)
Duncan. She attended school at Miller, South Dakota for several years and would have graduated with the class of 1949.
She graduated from Cathedral High School in Sioux City, Iowa and attended Briar Cliff College. She worked in Philadelphia, Pa., on the editorial staff of the Ladies Home Journal and was later poetry editor at the Saturday Evening Post.
She was married to Al Wright, now deceased, from whom she was divorced, and later
married Donald Paul Snowball of Winnebago.
She is survived by her husband, Donald, of Winnebago; a daughter, Claire Wright
Murphy of Conshohocken, Pa.; two sons, Duncan Wright of Sioux City and Duane
Snowball of Winnebago; a granddaughter; two sisters, Ann (Mike) Weaver of Arlington,
Virginia, and Connie Birmingham of Marion, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Ginny Duncan, of Sioux City; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Timothy Wright; and a brother,
