Wendell K. Roeber, 84, of 522 East 3rd Street, Miller, S.D., died Sunday, Dec. 12, 2004, at the Eastern Star Home of South Dakota in Redfield.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 15 from 1-8 p.m. at Reck Funeral Home in Miller with an 8:45 p.m. prayer service.
His funeral will be Thursday, Dec. 16 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Miller with the Rev. George Wieland officiating. Commital will be at 1:30 p.m. at the Burdette Township Cemetery following the service and fellowship at the church.
Wendell Keith Roeber was born September 19, 1920 to Alfred and Emma (Siegling) Roeber in Spink County where he attended school. He served four years in the 5th Army Air Corps during World War II on the Pacific front.
On October 7, 1949, he married Elaine Winsell at Trinity Lutheran in Miller. He trucked and farmed in northern Hand County until his retirement to Miller in 1989.
He was a member of the V.F.W. Post #3214 in Miller, the American Legion Post #0292 of Tulare and the Tri County Good Sams camping club.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine, of Miller; two sons, Steven (Marilyn) of Springboro, Ohio, and Scott (Kim) of Tulare; seven grandchildren, Stacey, David and Jessica of Springboro and Elizabeth, Andrew, Alex and Erika of Tulare; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Delton; and a sister, Floy Pietz.
