Gladys Parsons, 91, of Miller, died Sunday, April 18, 2004 at Hand County Memorial
Hospital in Miller.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 21 at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian
Church in Miller with the Rev. Brian Jones officiating. Burial will be in the G.A.R.
Cemetery, Miller.

Casketbearers will be Charles Droz, Philip Testerman, Casey Schulz, Jasper Shaw,
Ronald Blachford and David Erfman.

Reck Funeral Home, Miller, was in charge of arrangements.

Gladys Elaine Carpenter was born May 24, 1912, in Miller to Fred M. and Mattie (Shaw)
Carpenter. She grew up on her parents' farm north of Ree Heights.

She married Robert Parsons on July 3, 1934 at Miller, where they made their home.
After her husband's death in 1965, she moved to Rapid City and worked there until 1973
when she moved to Hemet, Calif. She returned to Miller in 1975 and resided here until
her death.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Eastern
Star for 59 years.

Survivors include a sister, Irene Collins of Miller; two nieces, Marlene (John) Blanksma of
Tujunga, Calif., and Verna (Peter) Steckel of Katy, Texas; and a nephew, Ronald
Blachford of Miller.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, twin sisters, and a niece,
Marilyn Blachford.
