Gordon J. Molitor, 87, of St. Lawrence, S.D., died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004, at Avera St. Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen.
The funeral was held Friday, Aug. 27 at the Reck Funeral Home in Miller with the Rev. David Andrews officiating. Burial was in the G.A.R. Cemetery, Miller.
Reck Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Gordon Joe Molitor was born August 13, 1917, near Watford City, N.D., to George and Mary (Rochow) Molitor. He attended school in Redfield, S.D. and in Montana through the eighth grade. He continued to work on the family farm until going into the United States Army in 1942. He served during World War II in the Pacific until his honorable discharge in 1946.
Following the war he drove truck in Montana and mined for a number of years. He also ranched and loved the rodeo life. In 1989 he moved back to the St. Lawrence area to ranch and raise horses. He lived there until the time of his death.
Survivors include one daughter, Deb Seaman and fiancée Jamie Ehnes of Aberdeen; three grandsons, J.C., Landon and Tanner; and one brother, Morris (Mary) Molitor of Boulder, Montana.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant sister; three brothers, Leo, Lawrence and George; and one sister, Bernice Mast Mabee.
