Anne (Fanning) Miller, 76, of Miller, South Dakota, died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2004 at Hand County Memorial Hospital in Miller, South Dakota.
Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 13 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Miller with Fr. John Helmueller officiating. Burial was in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Miller.
Casketbearers were Jerry and Randy Fanning, Chris and Craig Price, Dan and Paul Coss.
Reck Funeral Home, Miller, was in charge of arrangements.
Anne Bernadine Fanning was born August 6, 1928 in St. Lawrence, S.D., to John W. and Jessie (Perrott) Fanning. She attended school in St. Lawrence.
She was married to Don Hempel in Chehalis, Wash., and two children, David and Mary Beth, were born to this union. The children preceded her in death in 1960.
She lived in Harrison, Ark., for 20 years, returning to Miller in 2002.
Survivors include three sisters, Dessie (Eugene) Price, Donna (Bernard) Coss and Beth (Leo) Veskrna, all of Miller; two sisters-in-law, Irene Fanning of St. Lawrence and Loretta Fanning of Centralia, Wash.; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her two children, David and Mary Beth Hempel; her husbands, Don Hempel and Bill Antonechuk; her parents, John and Jessie Fanning; five brothers, Vincent, Joe, Jack, Larry and Gary Fanning; and four sisters, Cleo Bryant, Lorraine Smithers, Nadine Fanning and Leone Perkins.
