Irving E. Jenner, 77, of Miller, S.D. died Saturday, June 5, 2004, at the Heart Hospital in
Sioux Falls.

Visitation will be 1 to 7 p.m. at Reck Funeral Home Tuesday, June 8, with a prayer
service at 7 p.m.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, June 9 at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Miller,
with the Rev. Gary Anderson officiating. Burial will be in the G.A.R. Cemetery, Miller.

Irving Eugene Jenner was born February 13, 1927, to Arthur and Gladys (Fischer)
Jenner at St. Lawrence. He grew up and attended school in St. Lawrence, graduating
from St. Lawrence High School in 1945. From 1945 to 1947 Irving served in the U.S.
Army, being stationed in Germany.

On April 6, 1948, Irving married Virginia Hoogestraat at Miller. He worked for the City of
Miller in the electrical department for 15 years. The next 10 years, he was a crew
foreman for a powerline construction company. Irving then worked for Ree Electric
Co-op, retiring in 1989. After retiring, Irving drove for Dowlite of Miller, but had to stop for
health reasons.

Irving was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, a charter member of the Miller Lions
Club, a member of the American Legion and VFW, and was an EMT for the Hand
County Ambulance Service. He served as a board member for the Lions' Sight and
Service Foundation.

In his spare time, Irving enjoyed gardening, woodworking, bird watching, working with
stained glass and playing dominoes.

Survivors include his wife Virginia, of Miller; one son, Terry (Bev) Jenner of Colman,
S.D.; one daughter, Carol Jenner and Dave Hinkley of Pierre, S.D.; four grandsons; one
great-granddaughter; one sister, Lois Christiansen of Miller; and one brother, Merlin
Jenner of Bartelsville, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
