Donald James Hall, 71, of McAllen, Texas, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen.

Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 3 at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in McAllen.

Don Hall, son of James Jr. and Ada (Baruth) Hall, was born August 31, 1933, at Ree Heights. He attended school in Cedar Township and graduated from Miller High School in 1951.

Don had a special gift for judging livestock. He was a member of the West Hand Baby Beef 4-H Club for many years, and during high school was a member of FFA. During his high school years, under the direction of C.J. Wilber and LaVern Kortan, their livestock judging teams in FFA and 4-H won both state and national honors.

After graduation, he joined the U.S. Air Force and served four years at bases in Wichita Falls and
Harlington, Texas.
He married Joyce Evelyn Wolfschol on August 31, 1956. They resided in the Rio Grande Valley of McAllen, Texas.

Don worked for Bush Supply Company for 17 years, he was the manager at Valley Wide Electric for eight years, and he was in sales for C.E.D. for eight years.

He enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events and activities. He was an avid hunter, loved the outdoors and his favorite hobby was woodworking. After retirement, he made and sold many items.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Evelyn Hall; his daughters, Cindy (Tim) Hickey and Shelly (Greg) Goby; four grandchildren; and two sisters, Lila (Rich) Bawdon of Huron and Bonnie Heasley of Miller.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, and one brother-in-law, Donald J. Heasley, March 3, 2001.
