Lynn E. Grogan, 80, of St. Lawrence, S.D., died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004 at his home.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 7 at 10 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in
Miller with Pastor Wendy Popp officiating. Burial was in the G.A.R. Cemetery, Miller.
Casketbearers were Gerald, Roger and Jeff Reinhardt, Jeff Clement, Doug Pollock and
Harry Harrell. Honorary casketbearers were Gordon Pollock, Donald Canham, Lester
and Charles Hargens, Lester Becker and Lawrence Hrdlicka.
Reck Funeral Home, Miller, was in charge of arrangements.
Lynn Edward Grogan was born January 20, 1924 at Sanborn, Iowa to Cornelius and
Ellen (Harn) Grogan. He was five years old when his mother died and his family moved
to the Miller area. He attended school at Vayland, S.D.
He married Iris Reinhardt December 16, 1949. They shared 54 wonderful years
together. He spent his entire life farming and raising livestock. He loved the outdoors,
playing cards with friends and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He
recently celebrated his 80th birthday.
Grateful for sharing his life are his wife, Iris of St. Lawrence; a daughter, Sandra (Lee)
Klitzke of Mina; two sons, Jerry (Connie) Grogan of Huron and Barry (Tamie) Grogan of
Miller; nine grandchildren, Justin (Marcy) Klitzke, Jennifer Klitzke, Jill (Bryon) Jensen,
Samantha Grogan, Steven Grogan, Michael Grogan, Danielle Danburg, Allison Grogan
and Noah Grogan; two great-grandchildren, Jacelyn Klitzke and Saige Jensen; a sister,
Doris of Escondido, Calif.; three brothers, Tom of Miller, Cornelius "Junior" of Iroquois
and Bobby of Denver; a step-brother, Kenny Snyder; a step-sister, Phyllis Snyder; and
many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Ann Block; a brother, John;
and a sister, Margaret.
