Eva Fisher, 91, died Wednesday, April 7, 2004 at the Highmore Healthcare Center in
Highmore, South Dakota.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 10 at 10 a.m. at Reck Funeral Home in Miller
with the Rev. Allen Sager officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Wessington.
Casketbearers were Randy and Dean Hedge, Leonard Fritzsche, James Troth, Doug
DuBois and Eben Noyes, Jr.
Eva Ross was born August 30, 1912 to Angus and Bertha (Graham) Ross in Rose Hill
Township. She graduated from Wessington High School.
She married Tony Fisher May 23, 1932 at Fort Pierre. They made their home in the
Wessington community until 1979 when they moved into Wessington.
She was an avid hunter, and loved fishing, knitting and bowling. She spent the last
several years at Prairie Good Samaritan Center in Miller before transferring to Highmore this year.
Survivors include two nephews, Ray (Sharon) Ross of Wessington and Gary (Sheri)
Fisher of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; a niece, Annette (Duane) Helgelien of Wheatland, Wyo.; a
great-nephew, Robert Ross of Miller; a great-niece, Melissa (Donald) Morris of Colton; a
great-great-nephew, Bowdry Morris of Colton; a great-great-niece, Destrie Morris of
Colton; a cousin, Mary Rae Anson of Wessington; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Pauline
Fisher of Grand Junction, Colo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony, on November 5, 1979; her parents;
and her brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Marjorie Ross.
