Wyla W. Droppers, 51, of Belle Fourche, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004, at Lookout Memorial Hospital in Spearfish.
A ceremonial tribute was held Monday, Oct. 11 at Kline-Frost Funeral Chapel in Belle Fourche, with Envoy Tim and Peggy North officiating.
A short memorial service will be held Monday, Oct. 18 at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Nazarene, Miller. Inturnment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Miller.
Wyla was born February 21, 1953, at Miller to Morris and Velda (Merrit) Droppers. She graduated from Miller High School and earned an accounting degree in college.
Wyla worked for the state of Montana for five years. She moved to Illinois where she became a foster mother and also worked at a greenhouse for several years. In 1996, she moved back to South Dakota.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include three daughters, Joleene, Alishi and Rachael Droppers, all of Belle Fourche; two grandchildren, Nashlei Droppers and Searraha Droppers; one brother, Morris Droppers of Gaylord, Mich.; one sister, Lisa Enderson, Sioux Falls; her stepmother, Lois Droppers, Miller; two stepbrothers, Keith Hart, Rapid City, and Ken Hart, Pierre; one stepsister, Leah Blasdell, Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Diane, and a granddaughter.
