Christopher Colby Bentley, 43, died December 27, 2004, at his home in Tracy, California, of a heart attack.
He was born August 16, 1961, in Miles City, Montana. Chris and his family were long-time residents of Rapid City and part-time residents of Miller.
He attended South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in Rapid City. He also
attended Portadown College in County Armagh and Dungannon College in Tyrone, County Dungannon, both in Northern Ireland, and graduated from the American School in London.
Chris was an engineering consultant and a U.S. Navy veteran. He lived in California and
worked in the digital magnetic storage industry since 1987.
Chris enjoyed traveling around the globe, living in the Philippines, Hong Kong, Northern
Ireland, Iran and London. Later in his professional life, he traveled regularly to Japan,
Taiwan, Hong Kong, The People's Republic of China, Singapore and Malaysia. He will be greatly missed by his loving family, friends, and business associates around the world.
Chris is survived by his wife Sotha Bentley; three children, Roseanna Gnong, Monalisa
Gnong, and Colby Bentley, all of Tracy, California; three siblings, Bert Bentley of Manteca,
California, and Jane and Todd Bentley of Phoenix, Arizona.
He was preceded in death by parents Donald (Oct. 1980) and Betty (Whittington) Bentley (Aug. 8, 2000). [SLHS 1945]
