Randy D. Evans, 33, of Baltic, South Dakota, died Thursday, June 27, 1996, at McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, as a result of injuries received in a car accident.
The funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Miller, with the Rev. Donald Molumby officiating. Burial will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 to 5:30 p.m Tuesday at Reck Funeral Home in Miller. There will be a wake service at 8 p.m. at the church.
Randy D. Evans was born February 12, 1963, in Miller to Richard (Ole) and Belva (Boyd) Evans. He graduated from Miller High School in 1981, and joined the National Guard, serving for 12 years. He attended Northern State College from 1984 to 1988.
He moved to Washington, D.C. for one year and then to Albany, New York for three years. While in New York he managed Footquarters. In 1992 he moved to Sioux Falls.
He married Denise Simons December 31, 1992, in Miller. They lived in the Sioux Falls area for the past four years. He was employed as an account specialist at Citibank.
In May,1996, he received the Citibank Service Excellence Award, the highest honor an employee can receive.
He is survived by his wife and children, Austin, 2, and Kaleah, 9 months, all of Baltic; his mother of Miller; two sisters, Tammie (Gordon) Gross of Miller, and Debbie Smart of Pierre; three brothers, Ronnie Evans of Oak Creek, Wisconsin, Greg (Peggy) Brown of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and Jim (Sanae) Brown of Japn; nine nephews and four nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father on April 7, 1996, and his grandparents, Fairy and Arthur Evans and Elmer and Crystal Boyd.
