William Hall and Dorothy Gray Jackson

William Hall, son of John Hall and Allegonda Boom / Hall married Dorothy Gray Jackson, daughter of Robert Jackson and Ann Teresia Hobart Rawleigh. I'm directly descended from this marriage, and so are all the current descendants of Christian Boom that I know about (except for the branch leading to the Nunes family mentioned in the chapter “Godparents”). So this is the trunk of the family tree, there are roots, but all the branches spring from this trunk. They had many children, but not at quite the same frantic pace as Allegonda and the Mallard daughters. Apart from baptism and burial details, all that I have on their family comes from the Family Register.

Their children were:

William Hall b. 21 Jan 1770, bap. 24 Feb 1770, d. 26 Aug 1827

m. 10 Aug 1797 Dorothy Gray Jackson b. 22 Jan 1782, bap. 18 Apr 1783, d. 14 Jul 1839

    Robert Jackson Hall b. 26 Jul 1801, bap. 16 Mar 1802 St Andrew, d. 29 Jan 1846, bur. Kingston

    John Herman Hall b. 29 May 1803, bap. 4 Dec 1803 Kingston, d. 5 Mar 1867

    m. 1 Feb 1826 Jane Edgill Hughes

    m. 1861 Jane Vidal

    Allegonda Ann Hall b. 3 Jan 1806, bap. 8 Apr 1806 Kingston, d. 2 Jun 1806, bur. Port Royal

    Allegonda Ann Hall b. 20 Jun 1807, bap. 15 Jan 1809 St Andrew, d. 2 Nov 1864

    m. 29 Jul 1830 George Patterson

    Dorothy Rawleigh Hall b. 7 May 1810, bap. Port Royal, d. 12 Oct 1868

    m. 19 Dec 1837 William Bryan Hall

    Mary Letitia Hall b. 11 Dec 1812, bap. 27 May 1813 St Andrew, d. 8 Aug 1817, bur. Kingston

    Frances Rosannah Hall b. 17 Dec 1814, bap. 4 Jan 1816 Kingston, d. 6 Jan 1816, bur. Kingston

Alternatives:

Allegonda Ann Hall bap. 12 Apr 1806

Mary Lætitia Hall

Frances Rosanna Hall

William and Dorothy had some slaves, more than most family members but nowhere near as many as Dorothy's father Robert Jackson. The slaves of William Hall baptised on 15 Jan 1809 in St Andrew were:

William Hall (40 yo), Mary Hall (25 yo), Sarah Boom (25 yo), Margaret Lubin (6 yo), and Ann Stamp (2 yo).

You can see how some slaves were named after family members. The slave Sarah Boom is not actually Christian's defacto (wrong age), just named after her.

I recently found an illegitimate child of William Hall in the Port Royal Parish register, entered late, out of date order:

Aldegunda Hall, to William Hall & Mary Silburn, bap. 20 Sep 1800, b. 29 Oct.

So, a THIRD extra-marital relationship between a Hall man and a Silburn woman. Mary's race is unstated, but the others - Teresa and Anne - were coloured.
