Resolution No. 4195
Whereas, it is with special pleasure that the
members of the Missouri House of Representatives pause to recognize the City of
Weaubleau, Missouri, which is celebrating its One
Hundred Twenty-fifth Anniversary in 2005; and
Whereas, early history of the Haran and Weaubleau area shows
that the Sac Indians lived in the southwest part of Hickory County and that the
Osage Indians lived in the northern part of the County; and
Whereas, the location of where the original town
of
Whereas, the only trace of the town of Haran is an area containing a walnut tree and a cedar tree
which was known as Weaubleau Prairie, while the town
was called Weaubleau City until its name was changed
to Haran in 1880; and
Whereas, Weaubleau
Township was formed at the May term of the County Court in 1881, the township
being six sections long, six miles, and seven sections wide, seven miles; and
Whereas,
Whereas, Weaubleau is
an Indian name with a French spelling and is the only town in the
Whereas, incorporated in 1899, the City of
Now, therefore, be it
resolved that we, the
members of the Missouri House of Representatives, Ninety-third General
Assembly, unanimously join in extending our most hearty and robust
congratulations to the City of Weaubleau upon this
very special anniversary event; and
Be it further resolved that the Chief Clerk of the Missouri
House of Representatives be instructed to prepare a properly inscribed copy of
this resolution for the City of
