Daniel L. MEEKS was listed with his parents at age 22 on the 1860Johnson County Censu s . H e enlisted in Co. F,, 48th Georgia Infantryand was elected 4th Sergeant on Mar 4, 186 2 . H e lost an eye atSpottsylvania, VA on May 14, 1863. Daniel was home on furlough at the c los e of the war after having participated in the 7 Days Battles,Chancellorsville, and Ge ttys bu rg. He served in the ministry for 40years.
