The Tuskaloosa Gazette

Access and Availability

Copyright © 2003 Morris Simon. All Rights Reserved.

The Alabama Department of Archives & History has an excellent microfilm collection of early Alabama newspapers, including The Tuskaloosa Gazette. The Department of Archives provides microfilm volumes through its Interlibrary Loan services and also allows the duplication and purchase of some microfilm resources. Department of Archives staff will provide various research services to distant patrons.

Some area libraries, including the Tuscaloosa Public Library and the University of Alabama's Hoole Special Collections Library, maintain at least some of the microfilm volumes of The Tuskaloosa Gazette.

I regret that I no longer have time to provide transcriptions of individual items. Your local libraries may be able to borrow microfilm through interlibrary loan resources. If you need further information about access to The Tuskaloosa Gazette, send me your queries by email to masimon@bellsouth.net and I will try to answer your questions.
