    Thomas WADE (c1808 * 11.6.1885) Buried Tallarook, Victoria (Private No.351) was 16 years and underage when he enlisted - at Newry on 12th. May 1824. for a bounty of three pounds four shillings. He received the sum of six shillings and sixpence British on being attested. A Shoemaker on enlistment-  5ft. 4 3/4 inches high, fair complexion, blue eyes, fair hair. (On pension record- 1/- a day) - in 1868 -age 58 years -5 ft. 11 inches, Hair -sandy, Eyes blue, Complexion fair, Face long, Figure slim, Appearance healthy. Service: Mauritius -11 years  & New South Wales- 4 years. 20 years 327 days. (Abroad 15 years). Ranks: Private: 9.5.1824 to 8.5.1826; 9..5.1826 to10.4.1837 Corporal. 11,4,1837 to 30.4.1839 Private 1.5.1839to 21..3.1847. Further Service: 1.4.1847 to 14.9.1847. Final Discharge.  Character & Conduct: Very good soldier. 3 good conduct badges with pay. Underage in enlistment -2 years deducted from service record.   Medical Report: Invalided- Chronic Rheumatism & general debility.  Final discharge- 14th. September 1847. Pension for Life.
