Marine Private Michael Tolan (.....1789)

 

Michael Tolan enlisted in the Royal marines as part of the 55th Portsmouth Company. He served as part
of the convict guard on board the ship "Friendship" prior to its departure from England. Following his arrival he served a part of Watkin Tench's Company. On the 30th of April 1789 he and Private . Edward Odgers . disappeared in the bush while looking for food. Their bodies were never recovered.
It is not know whether any of his family settled or if he had any family in Australia.
