History
& Achievements :
- Isaac Tarr enlisted as a Marine a member of the
26th Portsmouth Company . He was stationed on board the
ship " Sirius " and it was on this ship he left
England for Australia. Upon his arrival in Sydney he
served as member of Captain John Shea's Company . Isaac
was sent to Norfolk Island on the ship "Supply"
on the 4th of March 1790 where he was granted 60 acres at
Mirgans Run. He returned to Sydney where he enlisted in
the Royal New South Wales Corps. Following his discharge
he was granted 40 acres at the Field of Mars. He lived with Mary Watkins when
he was posted to Norfolk Island. She
arrived on the Charlotte in 1789 and was tranferred to
Norfolk Island where Isaac met her they both arrived back
in Sydney in 1794 and Mary was not mention again. Isaac
married Elizabeth Matilda Crooke on the 10 April 1797.
and was assigned to Isaac and Governor Hunter gave
permission for them to marry.
