    The Inscription on the Headstone of, Private William Tandy

    Sacred to the Memory of William Tandy
    Late Private Soldier in Her Majesty58th Regiment.
    Who after many years faithfull servitude
    to Major Arney of the same Corps Commandant
    Was accidentlly drouned
    whilst bathing in Emily Bay
    on the 31st Decr. 1845 in the
    28th year of his age.
    In the midst of life we are death.
