History
& Achievements :
- Thomas Spencer enlisted as a Marine a member of
the 50th Portsmouth Company . He was stationed on board
the ship " Scarborough " and it was on this
ship he left England for Australia. Upon his arrival in
Sydney he served as member of Captain John Shea's Company
. Thomas was sent to Norfolk Island on the ship "Sirius"
on the 4th of March 1790. Returning via " Suppy in
May 1791. He returned to the Island as a settler via the
ship " Atlantic " in October of the same year .
He recieved a grant of 60 acres at Arthur Vale he left
the island on April 1766 via the ship "Supply"
. Purchased land at Mulgrave Place and settled as a
farmer. On March the 31st 1802 he recieved a grant of 100
acres at Mulgrave Place.Died in 1821.
