- Some of these ships carried members of the 28th
Regiment to Australia. Some soldiers Transfered from earlier Regiments
in Australia and they will be listed on their ships
- We are attempting to place each soldier of the
28th Regiment, who arrived on board their respective Ship.
It does not represent all soldiers only those
who may have settled. The link to the Ship show all soldiers on Board.
- We have omitted convicts from these pages as
the site is dedicated to the Soldiers.
- It is not
intended to justify or condone the actions or behaviour of some of the
military or the civilian contractors in any form,
and should not be taken that way.

Nautilus left UK on 19 Sept 1839 and arrived in Sydney
10th Feb 1840 with one officer and 11 other ranks of the
28th Rgt
The
Prince George left UK 26 Sept 1840 and arrived in Sydney

Thomas Lowrey arrived in Sydney on 28 June 1840 bearing
one officer 0f the 28th Rgt
The Westmoreland's second
trip carrying 28th Rgt personnel commenced in UK 5 May
1841 arriving Sydney 14 Nov 1841
The
Maitland left Port of London on the 13 Oct 1835 and
arrived in Sydney on 7 Mar 1842 with the last large
contingent of the 28th Rgt. On its way home it picked up
invalids of the 28th at Bombay
