History & Achievements :

Lynn David SHEPARD (one of the NSW Veteran landholders, came on the "Orphous"), was made a mounted policeman, was then WRONGLY charged with Highway Robbery, sentenced to death, this was commuted to life imprisonment on Norfolk Island for life, spent 2 years there, when another man CONFESSED to the crime, SHEPARD was released, came back to Australia (where he had 4 more children), he was 49 when he died and is buried in Sutton Forest cemetery.
