History & Achievements :
After landing as a convict guard in Hobart in the "Samuel Boddington", he went to Sydney and on 9 July 1846 he left with his Regiment on the "Levant" for Wellington NZ. I guess his almost 6 months stay in Australia qualifies this Kiwi as having Australian ancestry! It is highly probable that their first child (Thomas Arthur Scrimshaw) was born in Australia.
