    Convict. Tried: Sussex, Death
    15 Feb 1792: Death commuted to Life
    National Archives, HO 47/15/44. Samuel Young a convict in Newgate, capital respite, pray a pardon on condition of entering into the East India service.
    1794: Received a pardon conditional on his joining the NSW Corps
    Sydney Gazette 5 Mar 1809: Private in NSW Corps held a License at Parramatta (? Liquor or Trade)
    1810: Transferred to the 73rd Regiment
    24 Oct 1810: Promoted to pay master Sergeant
    Samuel later joined the 76th Regiment on the arrival of Governor Macquarie and went to Van Diemen's Land in 1810 with the regiment following the death of David Collins
