    Suffocation by Choking

Braidwood Observer Sat April 28 1860:

Sudden death - Intelligence was received on Thursday from Mr Carter of the Clyde Hotel of the sudden death of a man named Rowen (sic) who for the last two years past has been a resident of Nelligen in the district of Moruya. It appears that while eating his breakfast he dropped down dead as is supposed from apoplexy. The information was sent with the view of obtaining an inquisition, but as it was out of the district , no coroner could be dispatched from Braidwood. Mr Hogg (Chief Constable of Braidwood District) however who is always foremost in carrying out these works of charity acting upon faith of the spirit of co-operation which is proverbial in the Braidwood District, sent down a coffin for the interment.
