    John Pollett -born 12 June 1804 in England served in 80th Regiment in 1837 we think that is when he arrived so far we cannot find the ship he sailed on. John 's Wife Catherine Maher they met & married in Dublin on September 11,1832 she would have come with him and 2 small children, he stayed behind & they had 7 other children. John became a Gold Miner & owned Lucky point Gold Mine at Sofala where he died of TB on October 19, 1869 aged 65 years, he is buried in C/E section Sofala Cemetery.
