I am researching my great-grandfather, John Nash, who came first to Australia and then to New Zealand with the 65th regiment.
I believe he came to Australia probably as a convict guard aboard the "Joeseph Somes" in 1845, arriving in New Zealand in 1846.  he may have been posted back to Australia at some time.
