- . Terence McKenna was
appointed as a "Constable for the Island of
Van Diemen's Land and its Dependencies" effective
from 1st November 1844; and
2. Terence
resigned his appointment effective from 30th October
1846.
- The 96th Regiment sailed from
Norfolk Island on 23/2/1844 on board the "Duke of
Richmond" and arrived in Hobart on 11/3/1844.
Lieutenant Colonel Hulme was in command. On
28/3/1844 the Regiment arrived in Launceston (from
Hobart) on board the "Waterlily".
