    James Michael McDONNELL appeared on the first muster and payroll list April -30 June 1841
    * In July and August 1881.he was listed as "on detachment" 
    * Jan-March 1842 - "on detachment" again
    * Apr 1843 - made up to a corporal
    * Jul 1843 - guard duty
    * Aug - Sept 1843 - stationed at Port Phillip
    * Oct 1843 - Feb 1845 - he was recorded at Port Phillip
    * Sept 1845 he became a Sergeant
    * Oct 1845 - May 1848 - stationed at Newcastle
    * Jun 1848 - stationed at Sydney
    * Jun 1848 - in hospital
    * Nov 1848 - guard duty
    * 30 Nov 1848 - discharged, received a lump sum payment of 15 pounds.  
    He later became a farmer near Birregurra Victoria.
