Private Leonard Tazicker was one of three soldiers who accompanied an
expedition to the Murchison River in December 1848, by His Excellency Hon.
Charles Fitzgerald, Governor of Western Australia,
The party were attacked by aboriginals, and the Governor was wounded by
a spear.
The expedition was led by Mr. A. C. Gregory, Assistant Surveyor, (later
Sir Augustus Charles Gregory, notable Australian explorer).
