    He arrived in Tasmania as a member of Number 3 Company Royal Veterans of Tasmania 1826 - 1833 in Van Diemans Land on 26/8/1826 via the ship " John Barry". William LEE arrived with his wife Ann NEEDHAM on the John Barry in 1826. He was a sergeant in the Royal Veterans. He was appointed Superintendent of the New Town Road. Discharged 1830. He received land grants and also was an inn-keeper for some time. He had 11 children. He died by accidental drowning October 1852.
