- William Jones enlisted in the Royal Marines as a
member of the 2nd Portsmouth Company,
- . James was stationed on board the "
Scarborough " and on the 4th of May 1787 set sail
for Australia. Following his arrival he was detached to
Captain Watkin Tench's company. John recieved a grant of
25 acres at York Place . No more information has been
found, he disappears from records.
