Marine Private John Jones (......1788.)

 

John Jones enlisted in the Royal marines as part of the 15th Plymounth Company. He served as
part of the convict guard on board the ship "Scarborough" prior to its departure from England. John sailed with the ship to Port Jackson and arrived as part of the first Fleet.
Following his arrival in Port Jackson, he was attached ot Captain John Shea's Company , he became ill and
died on the 10th of October 1788 of "Fever ."
