the 73rd Regiment 24 April 1810. Enlisted at the age of
8years. Daniel and
his family moved to Ceylon so the Johns name ended here
in Australia.

1816, Parramatta, born 1792, Longford, Ireland

- History &
Achievements :
- Several years ago 250 descendants of Benjamin
Johns of the 102nd Regiment staged a reunion at
- Belgenny Farm near Camden. I believe Sgt Johns
was stationed at Macarthurs farm at Camden where his
daughter married a convict stationed there. His only son
moved to Ceylon so the Johns name left with him.
- I heard a rumour that he was involved in the
arrest of Governor Bligh in 1803, but have no more
- information on this. This would tie in with his
being loyal & getting a job on Macarthurs farm. He was a Free Sargeant 102 Regt and Town
Constable Windsor
